Corporate Social Responsibility

An important part of our firm philosophy is to be active and productive members in our communities. A key Odien principle is to support the well-being of our employees and to be an active and helpful member of our community. Our employees are integral to our success and we maintain high standards in employing, developing, and supporting our employees. We provide classes and individually tailored programs to encourage continuous development and learning. Our simple philosophy is happy employees are productive employees and our focus is on creating and maintaining an environment where our employees can thrive.

We believe that building strong partnerships and actively engaging and supporting our communities is not only a firm philosophy and responsibility but good for business. We prefer to work with firms and partners who have the same philosophy regarding corporate social responsibility. We are engaged in various community programs, activities and philanthrophic initatives and foundations.

Philanthropic Initiatives

Sport 2 Life

Odien supports Sport 2 Life, a privately funded project dedicated to inspiring healthy living and good habits for youth through sports. Our youth are becoming less healthy and increasingly less happy due to digital addiction, bad nutrition, and lack of postive interaction with other children. The objective of Sport 2 Life is to promote good nutrition, good habits, and discipline formed through sport by increasing the number of youth participating in organized sports and outdoor pursuits in our communities.

The foundation was established in Prague, Czech Republic, in November 2017 by Mr. Michael Saran. In June 2018, the Sport2Life foundation established its representative office in Croatia and started implementing its programs in Croatia. The first program implemented in Croatia was the international children’s tournament “Lav Cup”. In October 2018, the foundation launched its first event in Turkey, the Istanbul Fun Run, with the participation of over 500 children. In November 2019, a big project called ProHero started getting kids active on 6 elementary schools in Prague.

Saran „With the community, for the community” program

Saran Holding & Saran Media’s social responsibility motto is „with the community, for the community”. Since 2005, Saran has solely financed and built 5 schools in Central Turkey and 15 sport halls in Southeast and Eastern Turkey. Approximately 15,000 youth utilize the facilities. Since 2010, Saran has been a sponsor of the Turkish national paralympic sports teams. Since 2002, every 23rd of April, Saran has been organizing an annual program and sponsoring all of the travel and lodging expenses of 100 under-priviledged students from distant parts of Turkey to visit Istanbul for 3 days.

Community Projects

On a long term basis, Odien has been supporting several community projects and programs in Split, Croatia including the Maestral Children’s foster home and MOST association for less priviledged people. Every year Odien associates work on the landscaping of the Maestral Kaštela foster home and organize a St. Nicholas party and a Christmas party for the foster children including purchase of presents. We also organize outside excursions for the Maestral foster children, including a pool day in our Le Meridien Split hotel. Through the Maestral protégé program we also offer employment opportunities when the foster children turn 18. Odien also supports the MOST association for less privileged people by holding an auction and donating the proceeds to MOST. We also organize a public kitchen days where our associates cook and serve dinner to the homeless.
